Established in 1933

A third generation owned and operated company, Gahagan Paper Company was started by Mr. Earl M. Gahagan. A promenant printer in Joplin in the early 1930′s, Mr. Gahagan would routinely travel to St. Louis to purchase his paper stock and other printing supplies. Other printers in the area prevailed upon him to pick up supplies for them and, as such, it became evident that there was a need for a “local” supplier. Mr. Gahagan decided he would become that supplier and thus opened Gahagan Paper Company in 1933.

Upon his retirement, his son, Royce “Montie” Gahagan, headed up the operation, in partnership with his wife, Frances (Francie), and continued until his death in 2008. Francie and long time employee, Carl Young, continued to run the business until Francie retired in August of 2009. Kathy Gahagan-Shoaff has continued operations with every intent to expand and grow the business by providing new and innovative products and services.

This web site is only the beginning of bringing Gahagan Paper Company to the forefront as the premier supplier of quality paper products for printers and providers of printing services, in the 4-state area.
